COV-19

Partial School Closures

You will be aware that there are schools locally that have closed for year groups. These schools have followed guidance from DfE and Public Health England.

There are a number of children from St Andrew’s  who have displayed symptoms of COVID 19 and have been or are being tested. If the outcome of your child’s test is negative, they can return to school, providing no one else in the household is showing symptoms and awaiting test results and your child has had a normal temperature for 48 hours. If the outcome were positive, we would need to act quickly and contact Public Health England for further advice on partial or year group closure.

We will endeavour to inform parents of the advice we receive regarding closure as soon as possible via SeeSaw.

We appreciate and understand there are difficulties in obtaining COVID tests, locally and nationally.  This means that when children or family members show symptoms and they are unable to get tests within the recommended 5 days from onset of symptoms, they will then have to follow the 10-day isolation period.

Therefore teachers at St Andrew’s we have developed a Remote Learning Schedule for any COVID-19 related absence and this is now in place and follows a two tiered approach:

  • On the first day of absence, children will be required to access Seesaw and Sumdog.
  • The next day, if self-isolating, awaiting test results or in the eventuality that a class / year group is sent home , a full remote learning schedule will be made available to you, by your child’s teacher. These will take the form of a weekly timetable and incorporate a blend of SeeSaw and recorded teaching and online lessons.

These will be available on the class pages on the schools website www.standrewsinfants.co.uk  and additionally on SeeSaw.

Can you please ensure that you have logged into all the signposted sites and that you as parents have logged into SeeSaw, to receive any further communication. If you have any problems doing this, please contact your child’s teacher.

Please do not send your child to school if they are showing symptoms, awaiting test results or in isolation and contact Mrs Fellows on 01772 423339 before their return.

Thank you for all of your continued support.
