Pre-School and Nursery Group

Starting pre-school and/or nursery marks a new and exciting stage of life for both a child and his/her parents. St. Andrew’s Nursery Group believes in putting the child first and promoting high achievement in a caring and challenging environment. Our aim is to improve the life chances of the children in our care so that every child can reach their full potential.

St Andrews Nursery Group is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is run by a Management Committee. The nursery has been registered with Ofsted since September 1998.  Our pre-school operates from a designated space within St. Andrew’s Church of England Infant School. In September 2015, we added a beautiful new nursery unit behind the school to accommodate two-year-old children. We are open from 9.00 a.m. until 3.30 p.m. during term time and we provide early year’s education and childcare for children aged two until they enter school full time.

The group is inspected by registered OFSTED Early Years Inspectors and carries comprehensive insurance cover. St. Andrew’s Nursery Group achieved the award “Step into Quality” in December 2015; all our staff have a current Paediatric First Aid qualification.

We are members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and supported by an Early Years Foundation Stage consultant. We are also supported by an Inclusion Teacher from the Special Educational Needs and Disability Service, and have good links with the Children and Families Wellbeing Service.

Our Nursery was inspected by Ofsted on 18th September, 2018
