Our Christian Value this half term is 'Friendship'.

This half term we are using 'The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch' to support us in English, we will be writing stories on a theme. We will also use 'Flotsam' to support us in writing diary entries. We will look at seaside poems too.

Area of learning in Maths:

• Mental addition and subtraction
• Multiplication and division
• Statistics
• Measurements

In Science we will be learning all about materials, We will ientify and compare the suitability of a variety of everyday materials, including wood, metal, plastic, glass, brick, rock, paper and cardboard for particular uses. The children will also find out how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed.

For PE we will be focusing on athletic skills and our fundamental movement skills too. 

In Art we will be using the artist Eileen Downes to create seaside art, focusing on collage, in particular coastal landscape.

In our Geography lessons we will be learning all about Lancashire coasts. Our work will focus on Blackpool, Fleetwood, Morecambe and Lytham St Annes. We will look at key physical and human characteristics. 

In RE we learning about Ascension and Pentecost.  We will develop knowledge and understanding of these two very significant events. We will explore the concept of God as three in one.  We will emphasise the importance of these events in the life of Jesus and the Church, then and now.
