Our Christian value this half term is friendship.

This half term we are using 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' to support us in English. We will also use 'Flotsam' to help us write some amazing diaries and we will look at seaside poems too.

Areas of learning in Maths:

  • Mental addition and subtraction
  • Multiplication and division
  • Statistics
  • Measurements

In Science we will be learning all about materials. We will identify and compare the suitability of a variety of everyday materials including wood, metal, plastic, glass, brick, rock, paper and cardboard for particular uses. The children will also find out how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed.

For PE we will be focusing on athletic skills and our fundamental movement skills too.

In Art we will be using the artist Eileen Downes to create seaside art focusing on collage - coastal landscapes.

In Geography we will be learning all about Lancashire coasts. Our work will focus on Blackpool, Fleetwood, Morecambe and Lytham St. Annes. We will learn about key human and physical features.

In RE we will be learning about Ascension and Pentecost. We will develop our knowledge and understanding of these two significant events. We will explore the concept of God as three in one. We will emphasise the importance of these events in the life of Jesus Christ and the Church, then and now.
